You can easily get to the airport or the city center by metro. You just need to pick Line E (Purple), which starts at the airport and runs every 20 or 30 minutes, depending on the time and day of the week.

For these reasons, we consider the Metro to be the best option for getting to Porto city center, as it is the most efficient in terms of price and comfort.

Likewise, we recommend taking the Metro to get around Porto, as its network is well organized and covers the main places to see. So, we strongly recommend buying the Porto Card when you arrive in Porto, which gives you access to the city's various public transport services and helps you save some money.

Where to buy the Metro of Porto's card?

You can buy your metro card at any Andante shop (Metro's point of sale). You can choose your language and pay with cash or any credit card.

The short answer is, yes.

Taxis in Portugal are generally safe and very kind most of the time.
But it's always a good idea to exercise caution as you would in any other country. Stick to licensed taxis, ensure the meter is running, and if possible, use reputable taxi companies or apps for added security.

If you are at the airport, you will have taxi drivers near the entrance. You can feel comfortable using the taxi services you find at the airport as these taxis are all certified.
